In "My father goes to court" by Carlos Bulosan. It is stated that Filipinos are happy people. I agree, in a recent survey. We rank among the highest in happiest people in the world. Notice how many Filipinos are struggling now, but they always seem to have the time to laugh it off. I think it's important to have a good laugh at least 5 times a day. The story also shows the bond and the love seen in a Filipino Family. Even through hardships, a Filipino family would stick together. Same goes with the story "How my Brother Leon brought home a wife" by Manuel Arguilla, it is shown how Filipino families show respect to each other. We would'nt just marry someone immediately, we show him/her to our family and we ask for our parents blessing.

i agree... so do think Leon and Maria are not yet married? ^_^ Because for me, they're not married yet because it seems it's the first time that Leon's parents meet Maria...it's not proper right?^_^ esp. back in the time when the story was written..^_^
yes we are a one big happy people! hehe. whenever we see each other around the campus.. la casita, elevator, corridor, classroom, we smile as we greet one another. right? Ü
and sa family naman.. hmn.. Filipino families are really tight and close. plus, we respect each and every member of the family. in every decisions we make, often times, we think of our family, even how far or how close they are to us.
